Update June 1st
Unfortunately the team who is looking for Christiaan on the ground has found nothing. The friends who flew to Nepal arrived safely. They will try to meet the right people to set up the search.
We’ve started a new foundation “Red (Save) Christiaan Wilson”. We’re investigating the opportunity the use the foundation to set up a crowdfunding-action to extent the search for Christiaan.
We’re looking for the option to use search- and rescuedogs for search for Christiaan. If this will start, it will start at June 3rd the earliest.

Additional aid from the Netherlands on the way
Two friends of Christiaan, with extensive alpine experience, left tonight (Tuesday, May 31) in a plane to Nepal. Together with local people they will walk possible routes in order to find Christiaan. These friends, including a trauma surgeon in training, will work closely with the local rescue team and the team of the NKBV.

Update search team 1
The past day the research team searched for Christiaan on foot. Two sherpas have searched in the area of the Dhaulagiri Base Camp (above). One Sherpa has searched in the area of Italy Base camp (below). The Sherpas walked towards each other, have met and didn’t find Christiaan. The helicopter will fly on Route B this morning.

Second search team began searching
A second research team arrived yesterday and will start searching today in the most probable area where Christiaan might be located. The team is assembled by the NKBV, with a Dutch leader.

The helicopter departed to Dhaulagiri Base Camp from Kathmandu at 07:30 local time (03:00 CEST) returned with no result. Two Sherpas are on foot to search the area of the Dhaulagiri Base Camp. 1 Sherpa is on foot to search the area of Italy Base camp. They will also explore the area in the next 24 hours.
